Lambrusco: Red and sparkling wine made from the lambrusco grape that is normally produced in Italy.
Late Harvest: Classification assigned to dessert wines or full-bodied table wines that are produced from overripe grapes.
Lees: Term describing the sediment that settles on the bottom of a wine bottle or tank.
Legs: Wine term referring to the colorless "tears" that continually streak down the inside of a wine glass as a result of alcohol, high viscosity, or both.
Lemon Peel: The skin of the lemon that is often used as a garnish.
Lemon Sherbet: Mixture of lemon, ice, and sugar blended and frozen.
Lemonade Mix: Powder mix to create easy lemonade just by adding water.
Lemonchello: Brand of Italian lemon cordial.
Leroux Pina Colada Schnapps: Pina colada-flavoured liqueur made in the United States by the famous liquer company Leroux.
Licor 43: Spanish liqueur having a pleasant vanilla flavor. The liqueur's history goes back to around 200 BC. Since then, the formula has been passed down through generations and contains over forty-three basic elements which are mainly herbs and fruits. It can also be called Cuarenta Y Tres.
Licorice Liqueur: Licorice-flavoured liqueur.
Light Beer: Beer with a lower count of calories and alcohol in it.
Light Cream: Type of cream made with skim milk that is often reduced in calories and/or fat.
Light Rum: Type of rum that is light in body and aged for three years or more. It can be found in different colors, ranging from white to gold.
Lillet: Aperitif wine produced from a blend of Bordeaux wines, enhanced by liqueurs.
Lillet Blond (Blanc): Aperitif wine that has subtle flavors of honey, orange, lime, and mint.
Lillet Rouge: Aperitif wine that is spicy and flavored with essences of vanilla and berries.
Lime Bar Mix: Unsweetened substitute for lime juice that is available in powder or in liquid concentrate.
Lime Soda: Soda flavored with lime that is non-alcoholic.
Lime Vodka: Lime-flavoured vodka.
Limeade: Soft drink made with sweetened lime juice and carbonated water.
Linie Akvavit: Most widely diffused and exported brand of Norwegian Akvavit.
Lipton Brisk Iced Tea: Type of iced made by Lipton and available in different flavors.
Liqueur: Class of spirit that is normally sweet and often served after dinners. It is produced by either mixing or redistilling spirits with natural ingredients, such as fruits, plants, flowers, or chocolate. Sugar must be at least 2½% of the contents by weight.
Liquor: Name used in the United States to designate an alcoholic beverage, usually distilled rather than fermented, without any reference to its liquid composition.
Loganberry Juice: Type of raspberry juice, loganberries being raspberries from Logan.
London Dry Gin: A brand of very dry gin made around London, England.
Long-Island Iced Tea Mix: A combinaison of alcohol to which you only have to add ice, lime juice, and cola in order to make a Long-Island Icewd Tea.
Lychee Nuts: The fruits of a Chinese tree. The lychee nut itself has a red-brown shell, a whitish skin, and is very perfumy.
